Writing exercise

Read the example, then write a note using the brief below. Allow about five minutes.

01 / An example

Here's one of our notes.

The gift was a flight of three honeys with different origins. Names and contact details are redacted; the wording is otherwise unchanged.

Read the brief
[Recipient], I came across the [publication] feature on [farm] and got a little jealous. I'm from the PNW and spend most of my free time outside, so wide open acres of wildflowers sounds like a good way to live. Instead of an email, we tracked down three honeys we thought you might appreciate. Each has its own origin and character, and you can taste the difference. At [Our company] we build voice and chat agents for enterprises, and we hold them to a similar bar: you should be able to hear whose they are. They sound like the company, not like generic AI. If you're up for it, I'd love 30 minutes to show you what that could look like at [Their company]. Best, [Sender] [Contact details redacted]

Your assignment

Write the note to go with this gift. Explain why you chose it, connect it to your company's work, and include an invitation to talk.

Aim for a 120–180-word body; the greeting and sign-off are supplied. Write in the first person, using [Our company] and [Their company] where needed. You don't have to use every fact or follow the example sentence by sentence.

Spend about five minutes, and no more than ten. Write it yourself; spell-check is fine, but please skip AI drafting.

03 / Your note

[Recipient],

Include the gift, your reason for reaching out, and an invitation to talk.

Best, [Sender] [Our company]
